Humbled
So pleased to have already raised $700 for muscular dystrophy, and that's not including the pledges so many of you have made, based on the number of 5Ks I can run in a row on August 6th (see post below).
Sincerely. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
However, in the wake of my gratitude, I'm still not done asking for help. See this donation widget?
Here's the code for it:
<embed allowScriptAccess="always" src="http://widget.chipin.com/widget/id/c04a64427a007b7a" flashVars="event_desc=How%20many%205Ks%20can%20I%20run%20in%20a%20row%3F%20How%20much%20money%20you%20got%3F&event_title=Run%20For%20Tanner" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="120" height="240"></embed>
You'd be participating in a great act of selfless kindness if you managed to find a place for it on your blog for the next month. Maybe write a post about it? Tweet about it? Or anyway you can think of to raise awareness and more dough for such a worthy cause.
People. I don't have ads. I'm not looking for your pageloads. I just saw a picture of a boy and read his story and now I want to do somehing. So. Would you help me do something? Please?
If you run the widget, let me know in the comments, so I can keep compiling my huge list of people to thank.
Gotta run...

Done!
M'kay, done - widget's on the sidebar, not that I can see it because apparently Bob the Wonder Computer has suddenly taken exception to embedded videos and whatnot.
Shade and Sweetwater,
K
You're on my blog. Run like the wind, sir.
Done! Widget is up on my blog.
I did a post and tweeted about it, too.
Great idea for a great cause.
I added it, even though I have 2 readers. But it can't hurt! Maybe it'll inspire me to post more often!!
I did a post, and the widget is featured at the top of my page. I have almost no readership, and very rarely post to my blog, but...I wanted to do something other than the $20 I have donated.
You're pretty wonderful, you know. :) Now, run as though the Red Rugby Devil is chasing you.
I'm partial to kid causes. And if not to running then to runners. So I'm putting the widget on my blog. I actually do get lots of readers and many have children with healthcare issues --
My blog gets little traffic, so I posted you to my running friends group on FB.
I tried to put it on my blog but couldn't see it - is it because it uses flash ?
Hey buddy - I put the badges up on http://nomoremuffintop.net/ and http://craftastrophe.net/. Git 'er done!
My blog does not have a huge following, but it is a result of a much-treasured email that you sent me. So, I simply had to post that little widget on there. Run until you cannot run anymore, friend.
I added the button to my blog.
Blogged.
I have an excellent idea for your run. Maggie Dammit (my DIL) said that you were braggin' on how you were going to lap her at the 5K. She said "yeah - duh. Of course he's going to lap me". That made me think about how many people you might actually lap with your awesome "Run for Tanner' goal. So, I thought you should carry some stickers - maybe tucked into your tutu - that say "You've been lapped by BHJ" that you could slap on runners on your way by! Some people may even have multiple stickers by the end of the day, but that would be a good thing. Your welcome.
Sue. First of all, let's give Maggie the props she she deserves. She said she runs 9-10 minute miles, so let's put her 5K around 30 minutes. My best 5K was 21:46, so even on my BEST day, I couldn't lap Maggie. And in NYC, my focus is definitely on distance and not on speed. I'm going to try to hit my 5Ks between 25-30 minutes, so I'll be lucky to even finish with Maggie on my first one. Point being, it's a good idea, but there's not gonna be much lapping.
I guess by now you realize that I'm not a runner. The jig is up. Oh well, it was a good idea - and Maggie thought so too -although now i think she was yanking me. Oh, and just so we are clear on the "props", Maggie has AMAZING muscles. Maybe she'll show 'em to you. Have fun.
I added it to my blog too. And I'll share it with the gals I am running with.
I will "run" once, in a tutu. Thus, you and your running round and round self are my hero. I will most certainly write about you and put you front and center on my blog. Thetravelingcircus.com
